What inspired you to get into writing?
My love for writing started with an initial love for reading. My parents read to me everyday and ensured I learnt how to read at an early age. I could read and comprehend entire 30-50 paged story books by the end of first grade, and this sparked my desire to write and create. By the time I was in third grade, I’d started writing my own short stories, usually 5 to 10 pages long, and the love for writing just kept growing from then on.
Recent work:
Nambela The Paragon. It’s a Young Adult, Sci-Fi novel set in contemporary Zambia.
Why did you choose to write this book:
I chose to write this book because I wanted to tell a Zambian story about loss, hope and especially, adventure. It follows the journey of high school graduates lured into a bogus scholarship, only to be abducted. In a way, it highlights how Zambians have been victims of deception, exploitation and trafficking due to ignorance, and sometimes, desperation.
What character are you most likely in the books you have written and why: I’d be the character that stops at nothing to achieve their goals, regardless of insurmountable odds that may lie before them. Different characters have embodied these traits in my books, so I can't necessarily identify with a specific character, but rather the character attributes.
